Real estate notes come in all shapes and sizes and we’ll take a look at anything; if it’s a good deal we’ll make a bid. There are some areas we’ll stay away from simply because the local government has made it too difficult, too expensive or too time consuming for us to do business there (Chicago, Cleveland, New York City, Kentucky – to name a few).
In general, though, we are always looking for distressed paper (NPN’s) and occasionally performing notes in most of the major and secondary markets across the country, primarily first liens. We will buy on a one-off basis or in larger pools.
